Elderly people involved in a car accident can have worse effects on them than on a mid-aged person simply because as we get older our body begins to break down and the bones become more fragile. What can cause a minor bone break or maybe just even a bad bruise for a young adult or middle aged person can cause a serious injury in an elderly person.
It is important to understand whether you are an elderly person who was just involved in a car accident or if you are the family member of an injured elderly person that broken bones in elderly people can cause a more severe amount of damage and can in turn take a longer amount of time for the person to heal. An elderly person may also have to go through an additional amount of physical therapy to get the affected body part moving correctly again.
