The New York roadways will become more congested with motorcycles as the weather continues to warm. Unfortunately, if you are a motorcyclist, this means that your risk of being involved in a serious motorcycle accident increases.

If you are a motorcyclist, you are at a higher risk of being severely injured since a motorcycle does not provide the same protection as a car. You stand a greater chance of suffering a debilitating injury that can have lasting effects on your life.

The good news is that motorcycle technology is improving, especially in brake design. Most current motorcycles have a disk brake system utilizing a hydraulic system. This system multiplies the force exerted by the hand to stop a motorcycle.

The latest advancements in motorcycle braking technology include the use of anti-lock braking systems, such as is found in most cars. Anti-lock brakes are a computer assisted braking system that helps apply and release brake pressure when coming to a stop. It prohibits the wheel from locking up while allowing the most braking force possible.

This new advancement in motorcycle braking technology could be the difference in helping you avoid a major motorcycle crash.
