New York City Building Officials inspected potentially dangerous balconies at various apartments throughout the five boroughs in New York  City and the results they found were quite disturbing.

NYC Building Officials advised tenants in NYC apartment buildings to stay off of their balcony until further notice because of the high risk of injury and death.  While 16 buildings were deemed as having unsafe balconies an additional 800 building owners were in violation for failing to file mandatory building inspection reports on the safety of their apartment building balconies and terraces.  Inspections are to be done and submitted every 5 years.
