Boy Collided With Car on Long Island

A 16 year old boy riding his bike seriously injured himself when he collided with a car on Long Island, authorities say.
Police say the boy was riding his bike southbound on Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst when he apparently ran into a 2010 Volkswagen near the intersection at West Hoffman Avenue.
He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. Neither the driver nor the passengers in the car were hurt.
The vehicle was impounded for safety check.
