The two-vehicle accident involving the students from Our Lady Star of the Sea occurred at approximately 3:00 PM on Thursday afternoon, September 10, 2009. The Staten Island crash took place at the corner of Kingdom Avenue and South Billiou Street in Huguenot.

“I thought it was a giant pothole, but really we hit somebody,” commented one of the students traveling on the school bus.
The occupants of the SUV, a mother and her child, were also transported to a local hospital; where they were treated for injuries. However, none of the injuries they suffered were considered to be serious.
